From the last lab. Answer in your head, then open to check.
~/.tmux.conf but nothing changed. Why, and what do you run?tmux source-file ~/.tmux.conf.source-file prints file:line: message for the first bad line and stops there.Every keyboard shortcut has a command behind it. With commands you can set tmux up from scripts, which is the basis of the next lab. Stay outside tmux for this one.
Every key binding is just a tmux command: Ctrl-b % runs split-window -h. Typing tmux <command> in a shell sends that same command to the server over a socket (in /tmp/tmux-<your uid>/), so anything you can press, a script can do.
Targets have a full form: session:window.pane, e.g. build:0.1 is pane 1 of window 0 in session build. Shorter forms fill in the current one.
tmux new-session -d -s build
tmux ls
send-keys types into a session as if you were there. Enter is the key name for Return:
tmux send-keys -t build 'echo compiling' Enter
tmux split-window -h -t build
-h splits side by side and -v top and bottom.
Layouts rearrange all the panes at once:
tmux select-layout -t build even-horizontal
tmux list-panes -t build
tmux new-session -d -s name starts a session in the background.send-keys types into it; split-window and select-layout arrange it.
